THE POWERFUL STORY OF
WeChonH’PeCala “Star”
My name is Star and my story of selfpower is one of perseverance, unwavering strength, and an undaunted attitude towards life. Science has always been my passion and since I was 15 years old, I have been a certified veterinary technician. I have always wanted to use my passion for science to help other women, and thus my journey began. I am an officer in the Equine Assisted Activities Therapy Club at Colorado State University and volunteer at Front Range Exceptional Equestrians (FREE) to help at-risk youth and veterans. I have had the privilege of meeting and working with women in STEM field careers such as Temple Grandin and Claire Tucker, who recently hosted Girls & Science at the Denver Museum. I am an e-affiliated student member of AAUW because I believe in advocating and empowering women in STEM careers. I believe all women can be survivors of their circumstances.
