40 YEARS OF EMPOWERING FUTURES

The Next 40 Starts Now.

And they start with you. Right now, single parents in Northern Colorado are waiting to find out if they can say yes to changing their trajectories. Your gift before June 30, doubled by matching funds, determines whether they can.

WHY THIS MOMENT MATTERS

Forty years of SelfPower. One six-week window to keep it going.

Project Self-Sufficiency partners with low-income single parents in Northern Colorado to remove the barriers between them and a degree  tuition, rent, utilities, transportation, childcare, and books  through the Strengthen Scholarship and wraparound support.

With approximately $210,000 in scholarships to award for 2026-27, the gap between what grants cover and what families need is filled entirely by individual donors. There is no fallback. There is no other source. Gifts received by June 30 directly determine how many single parents we can say yes to this academic year.

A SELF-POWER STORY

Full circle.

Debi came to Project Self-Sufficiency as a single mother in need of support. Today she sits on the Board of Directors, mentoring the next generation of single parents through the same Strengthen Scholarship that changed her life.

Forty years. Generations of SelfPower. Your gift keeps the cycle going.

WHERE YOUR GIFT GOES

A scholarship is not an award.
It’s a lifeline.

The Strengthen Scholarship goes beyond tuition. It’s wraparound support designed to give single parents everything they need to take off and make it to their final destination.

Wraparound support, not just tuition

The Strengthen Scholarship removes the financial barriers between single parents and a degree, covering not just tuition and books, but rent, utilities, transportation, childcare, and the everyday costs of being a student and a parent at the same time.

Multigenerational impact

Every dollar invested in a single parent’s education ripples forward. Their children grow up watching their parent earn a degree, enter a career, and build stability. That’s the cycle of success, and the legacy of our 40th year.

Individual donors are the deciding factor

As federal policies shift and state budgets tighten, community support has never mattered more. Project Self-Sufficiency cannot close the 2026-27 scholarship gap without individual donors. Gifts received by June 30 go directly toward this year’s cycle.

I’m stronger because of the guidance and encouragement to believe in myself and pursue my dreams.
