Volunteer With Us

At Project Self-Sufficiency, we believe in the power of community. Our volunteers are an essential part of our team, contributing their time, talents, and passion to empower single parents on their journey to self-sufficiency. Each year, over 100 volunteers dedicate an average of 4,000 hours to our organization, providing vital support that directly transforms lives.

Your contribution, whether it’s repairing cars, refurbishing computers, tutoring, or supporting our events, directly fuels our programs and helps single parents achieve their goals. Apply now and join our community of dedicated volunteers today!

Current Volunteer Opportunities

We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities to match your skills and interests. Explore the list of our current volunteer opportunities to help single parents below.

Join the Friends Group

Help build community and support families year‑round.
The Friends Group is a dedicated group of volunteers who support Project Self‑Sufficiency of Northern Colorado families through thoughtful gestures, community events, and meaningful connections. Volunteers help ensure participants feel celebrated during holidays and birthdays, assist with special events, and support fundraising efforts that strengthen our programs. The Friends Group offers a welcoming way to stay engaged, collaborate with others, and make a lasting impact through service and connection.

Become an Event Volunteer

Help bring our mission to life through meaningful events.
Event Committee volunteers play a vital role in helping Project Self‑Sufficiency of Northern Colorado create engaging, mission‑driven events that support and connect our community. Volunteers work collaboratively to assist with event planning, coordination, and on‑the‑day support, contributing their time and talents in ways that match their interests and comfort level. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to work behind the scenes, build connections, and help create positive experiences that advance our mission.  We also need volunteers to work on event days to set up, clean up, registration and other tasks at the events.

Front Desk & Office Support

Front Desk Clerical & Office Support volunteers play a vital role in keeping our office running smoothly while creating a warm, supportive first impression for everyone who walks through our doors. Volunteers assist with greeting visitors, answering phones, and providing general office support to staff and programs.

“The Participants are hard-working people who are focused on improving themselves and making life better for their families. I volunteer here because I get to do fun (geeky, technology related) stuff and be around such wonderful staff.”
