Donate Your Vehicle to Empower Single Parents

Your car can drive a dream. Donate your vehicle to Project Self-Sufficiency and empower single parents to activate their SelfPower and achieve independence. Donate your vehicle or learn more about the multigenerational impact of donating your vehicle below.

Why Your Vehicle Donation Matters

The road to self-sufficiency starts here. Reliable transportation is a critical need for single parents striving to achieve their goals. Without a dependable car, it’s incredibly difficult to get to work, attend school, take children to appointments, and access essential services. Your reliable vehicle donation can be the key that unlocks a brighter future for a single parent and their family.

Imagine the impact:

  • A single mother can accept a better job further away, knowing she has reliable transportation
  • A single father can attend night classes to earn his degree, confident he can get there on time
  • Children can access vital medical care and participate in extracurricular activities, enriching their lives and expanding their opportunities

Your Vehicle Donation Has Multigenerational Impact

Unlike other vehicle donation programs, Project Self-Sufficiency guarantees that your donated car goes directly to a single parent family in need. It is never sold at auction. This ensures your generosity has the maximum impact, providing a tangible and immediate benefit to a family working hard to achieve self-sufficiency.

The families who receive these reliable vehicles have demonstrated their commitment to improving their lives through education and career development. Your donation empowers them to overcome transportation barriers and focus on building a stable and secure future, just like it did for Natasha!

Donate Your Vehicle

Thank you so much for considering a vehicle donation to Project Self-Sufficiency. We’re deeply grateful for your generosity. Since we put donated vehicles directly back into use by families in our community, we partner with a trusted garage in Fort Collins to complete a ‘Pre-Donation Inspection’. This helps us determine whether we can accept the vehicle. A dedicated volunteer from our Cars for Families program will be in touch soon to discuss your donation and help coordinate the vehicle’s inspection at the garage.

In the meantime, here is an overview of how the program works:

How the Donation Process Works

  1. The donor submits a Donor Vehicle Form
  2. Cars for Family Volunteers will review the application and set up a time for a third-party inspection.
  3. If the vehicle meets our program guidelines and repair costs are within program limits, we will coordinate the donation process.
  4. Once the vehicle is approved, the title is transferred to Project Self-Sufficiency, and repairs will be made if necessary.
  5. The vehicle will be awarded to the participant, who must provide proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license before the title is transferred.

Once a participant has been awarded a vehicle, they may utilize the funding they receive through our program for preventative maintenance, repairs, and fuel expenses. Additionally, we work with several partner garages that generously support our mission by providing discounted pricing for repairs and maintenance, which helps offset these expenses.
